This index to La Crosse’s daily newspaper includes citations to news articles from Buffalo, Crawford, Jackson, Monroe, Trempealeau, and Vernon counties since January 2004 and some older than that. It also contains citations for some Wisconsin news articles from the La Crosse Tribune and other Wisconsin newspapers before January 2004, as well as articles in some Wisconsin magazines (The Municipality, Wisconservation, Wisconsin Counties, Wisconsin TaxpayerWisconsin West) from January 2004 to December 2007.

La Crosse Tribune Index

Wisconsin File

Historical research on Wisconsin can be done with the newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and copies of magazine articles in the subject files make up the Wisconsin File. It is located in the Reference area on the second floor of the library. Most of the materials cover the time period of the mid-1970s through December 2003, although there are some older things too.

The library subscribes to several magazines that have a Wisconsin focus: Door County Magazine (online), Madison Magazine (online), Milwaukee Magazine (online), The Municipality (online), Packer Report, Wisconsin Magazine of History (article archives), Wisconsin Natural Resources (article index), and Wisconsin Taxpayer (online). Wisconsin Trails is now only (online).
